Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing another minor magic item that can provide invaluable utility to a low-level party: the rod of magic detection.

This item is designed to aid groups that don’t have ready access to abilities like detect magic. DM’s can provide one when they expect the party to be encountering a lot of magic effects, and they want players to have a way to detect and differentiate between them. They’re also a fun item you can give to wizard NPCs who regularly study and investigate magical anomalies. They could even be quite common in magic-heavy settings, such as Strixhaven.

As always, feel free to use this content in your adventures, and your feedback and suggestions are welcome.
